The heat wave you’ve been hearing about all week long is expected to bring some sizzling temperatures to the Central and South Coasts Friday and Saturday.
Highs will range from around 90 on the coast, to close to 110 for some inland areas.
The heat, coupled with gusty wind on the South Coast later today is creating dangerous Red Flag fire conditions. There was enough onshore flow, and marine layer Thursday to keep temperatures in our region significantly below those in the Los Angeles area. But, we’re not expected to get that same type of relief Friday.
Some predicted highs for Friday include an 87 for Oxnard, 90 for Carpinteria, and 92 for Santa Barbara. The forecast is for even hotter temperatures inland, with a 109 for Simi Valley, 108 in Ojai, 105 in Solvang and 94 in Santa Maria.
The high temperatures will drop two to four degrees on Saturday, and even more on Sunday.
