Head-On Crash on Central Coast Seriously Injures One Person

Santa Maria firefighters extricate person following head-on collision

Authorities are investigating a head-on crash on the Central Coast that left one person with serious injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle and a truck collided around 5 p.m. Friday just west of Santa Maria at West Main Street and Black Road. Santa Maria Fire Officials said firefighters spent 25 minutes extricating someone from the wreckage. One person suffered major injuries and was rushed to Cottage Hospital. The other was taken to Marian Hospital.

The collision is under investigation by the CHP.
