Freezing Temperatures In Forecast Prompt Warnings For Central, South Coasts

A storm system passing through the Central and South Coasts won’t drop much rain, but it will bring the region some of the coldest temperatures so far this winter.

The rain is expected to be in the form of scattered showers. There’s no concern about significant rainfall which could impact brush fire burn areas. But, temperatures could drop down to around freezing Monday and Tuesday nights, even in many coastal areas on the South Coast.

Some interior valets could drop into the 20’s. The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

It means animals should be protected from the cold, pets should be brought indoors, and exposed pipes should be wrapped to prevent them from bursting.
