Four Arrested For What Detectives Call Sophisticated Shoplifting Ring In Ventura County

Jul 9, 2018

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they’ve broken up an organized retail theft ring which used teams of people to distract clothing store clerks while other members of the team would steal items.

Investigators say members of the ring stole more than three thousand dollars worth of items from a Victoria’s Secret Store in Thousand Oaks.

But, the detectives say they were able to trace the four suspects to a motel in the San Fernando Valley. They got a search warrant, and discovered hundreds of stolen items and removed store sensors. All four suspects are from Santiago, Chile.

They were booked into the Ventura County jail on burglary and criminal conspiracy charges.
