Former Police Officer In Ventura County Pleads No Contest To Falsifying Time Cards

A former police officer in Ventura County could spend time in jail after entering no contest pleas to charges that he was paid for hundreds of hours of time he actually didn’t work.

Ventura County prosecutors say Robert Longdon committed time card fraud, claiming he worked days he didn’t, and padding hours for days he did work.

Longdon joined the Simi Valley Police Department in 2009.

Prosecutors say the fraud occurred from 2014 to 2017. The 45 year old man entered no contest pleas to four felony counts of grand theft, and one felony count of attempted grand theft.

He’s already paid $100,000 in restitution to the city, and is set to be sentenced in September.
