Former Pastor Gets Two Year Prison Sentence For Sex Crimes Conviction On Central Coast

A former Canadian pastor has been sentenced to two years in state prison for a sex crime conviction on the Central Coast.

San Luis Obispo County prosecutors say Nathan Rieger had arranged to meet a teenage girl in Arroyo Grande for lewd purposes.

But, the 53 year old man had actually been communicating with an undercover detective.  When Rieger showed up to meet the 15 year old girl, he was arrested.

He will start his prison sentence in California, but through a treaty with Canada, he can petition to serve the rest of it in a Canadian prison.
