First Wind, Then Showers In Forecast For Parts Of Central, South Coasts

Even as the South Coast continues to recover from the big storm which hit Southern Santa Barbara County a month ago Friday, there’s concern about the potential for new brush fires this weekend.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday for Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

The wind is expected to peak Sunday morning, with gusts in the 50 mile an hour range possible in the mountains. They are also keeping an eye on the potential for rain early next week. At this point, they are saying we have a chance of showers south of Point Conception.

Officials will keep a close eye on the system because of concerns about brush fire burn zones, and the problems heavy rain could potentially cause.
