Firefighters Knock Down Brush Fire Which Snarls Traffic Off Of Highway 101 In Eastern Ventura County

It wasn’t a big brush fire, but it snarled traffic on a section of Highway 101 in Ventura County during the tail end of the evening rush hour.

The four acre blaze started near Highway 101 and Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks just after six Thursday night. Firefighters stopped its spread in about a half hour with the help of a helicopter.

No homes were threatened, but it caused lots of slowing for traffic in the area. There’s no word on the cause.
