Firefighters are trying to pinpoint the cause of a fire at a Ventura County elementary school.
The blaze was reported at about seven a.m. Monday at Cypress Elementary School in Newbury Park.
Ventura County firefighters arriving at the Kimber Drive campus saw light smoke coming from the roof of one of the buildings. They were able to quickly put out the fire.
The school year was already over at the campus, so no evacuations were necessary.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
