Federal investigators have released a massive report on their investigation of the February, 2015 Metrolink accident in Ventura County which left one person dead, and 31 others injured.
The more than 2,000 page report contains information and interviews collected by the National Transportation Safety Board in the wake of the Oxnard accident. However, it doesn’t include conclusions into why the accident happened, with those results still pending. The train plowed into a pickup truck with a trailer which had been driven onto the tracks, and apparently became stuck.
The driver fled the scene, later telling investigators he had become confused in the darkness, and turned onto the tracks instead of a parallel street.
