An Isla Vista apartment house will be going through renovations as erosion threatens the side of the building facing the ocean on a 40-foot cliff.
A portion of the patio will have to be removed, and a new safety rail will need to be installed.
The county of Santa Barbara is moving an emergency permit through to the coastal commission this month.
When the permit is approved, work will begin in 30 days, with special monitors on sight for beach and pedestrain safety.
