Earthquake Swarm Rattles Ventura County

More than a dozen earthquakes have rattled Ventura County. The wave of quakes started with a magnitude 3.3 temblor at 11:27 Friday night. It was centered 11 miles northeast of Ojai.

Then, a magnitude 4.1 quake struck in the same area at 12:40 Saturday morning. It was the largest in the series of quakes.

Ten other smaller quakes between magnitude 1.7 and 2.7 occurred during the next 12 hours, again with epicenters around 10 miles northeast of Ojai.

A magnitude 2.0 quake happened at 7:21 Saturday morning about 7 miles southwest of Thousand Oaks. No damage has been reported. People throughout much of the county felt the larger quakes.
