Authorities have recovered a drug smuggling boat and some bales of marijuana from a Santa Barbara County beach.
The boat was spotted during the noon hour Friday on a beach about a mile north of Refugio State Beach. Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies, along with state and federal law enforcement officers responding to the scene found a 30 foot long boat equipped with two outboard motors.
A search of the area failed to turn up any sign of the boat’s crew, but five bales of marijuana were found in some nearby bushes.
