Dozens Of Motorcycles And Scooters Targeted By Thieves On South Coast

Santa Barbara Police say in November 37 vehicles were stolen, and 24 of them were motorcycles or scooters.

This spike has lead to a call to action for motorcycle and scooter owners to keep their vehicles more secure.

Increased security options include stronger cables, locks, and motion alarms.

Police say it appears that motorcycles are being lifted up by one or more suspects and trucked away, or being pushed to a hiding area to be removed at a later time.

One stolen motorcycle was recovered Thursday in Downtown Santa Barbara.
