Scene of triple murder in Goleta

Detectives say they are trying to determine why a man killed a business associate and his family in Santa Barbara County.

Dr. Weidong Han, his wife Huijie Wu, and their five year old daughter Emily were found dead in their Goleta home Wednesday night. The three had apparently been shot to death, possibly Tuesday night.

On Friday, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Pierre Haobsh in San Diego County. Investigators say Haobsh had a gun, and some property from the victims with him.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown called the killings a diabolical, premeditated crime. He said the case was complex, and it could take some time to establish all of the details. Investigators think the killings might have been financially motivated.

Han was well known in Santa Barbara County for his herbal medicine practice.
