Demolition work is set to start next week on four Santa Barbara County bridges heavily damaged by the deadly January 9th storm which hit the region.
All of the bridges are on Highway 192 between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. Caltrans officials say demolition work will start Monday on the Toro Canyon Bridge, followed by the Romero Canyon Creek, Arroyo Paredon, and Montecito Creek Bridges.
The demolition and replacement of the four bridges is expected to cost about $30 million dollars. Caltrans has accelerated design work on the bridges to try to get construction going as soon as possible,
Two other damaged Highway 192 bridges are being repaired.
