Crop Values Rise In Ventura County; Strawberries Again Remain Top Crop

Strawberries remain the crop to top in Ventura County.

The Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner’s office has released its 2015 crop report, which shows strawberries are again the county’s top cash crop. The nearly $618 million dollar value is more than double second place lemons. The top five crops in the county were rounded out by raspberries, nursery stock, and celery.

The overall value of the county’s crops rose from $2.1 billion in 2014 to around $2.2 billion in 2015.
