Firefighters say a brush fire in eastern Ventura County near Lake Sherwood is now 90% contained, but because of some hot spots it looks like it will be sometime Friday before there is full containment.

The nearly 80 acre fire broke out just before four p.m. Wednesday, burning some rugged, undeveloped hills between two housing developments.

Firefighters aided by aircraft were able to stop the spread of the flames before they could reach homes. No houses have been damaged, and no injuries reported.
