Conejo Valley Festival Attracts Thousands of People

Conejo Valley Days
Conejo Valley Days runs May 11-15 in Thousand Oaks

A large festival that attracts thousands of people to the Conejo Valley is celebrating its 60th anniversary as it continues through the weekend. Conejo Valley Days started on Wednesday, May 11 and runs through Sunday, May 15 at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oaks.

Diane Rumbaugh of CVD says the event has an "Old West" theme.

"We bring the country flavor back to the community," she said.  "Because as we become a big city now, we're trying to go back to the way it was 60 years ago, which was a lot of open space, a lot of fields and ranches."

The five-day event includes live entertainment at the Golden Horseshoe stage and outhouse races, along with carnival rides, exhibits and animal shows. Rumbaugh says more than 30 nonprofits will benefit from the festival.
