College Student Dead, Teenage Girl Behind Bars Following Car/Bike Collision On Central Coast

A Central Coast bicyclist is dead, and a teenage girl is behind bars following what investigators say was an alcohol related collision.

San Luis Obispo Police were called to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard, and Ferrini Road at around 11:30 Tuesday night by reports of a car hitting a bicyclist. They found Kennedy Love on the ground. Efforts to revive the 22 year old Cal Poly student were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw two young women a few minutes later examining what appeared to be damage to a vehicle in a parking lot. They then left the scene.

Police found the vehicle, which had been abandoned, and after contacting its owner identified a 17 year old Los Osos girl as the driver. She was arrested on vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI, and felony hit and run charges.
