City In Ventura County Names New City Manager

A Ventura County community has selected a new City Manager.

The contract still has to be finalized, but the Moorpark City Council has chosen Troy Brown to oversee the city.

Brown has more than two decades of experience as a municipal government executive. His most recent job was as the City Manager for the City of Tracy, in Northern California. Brown served as Tracy’s Chief Executive for three years before he was fired last September. Tracy officials never released the specifics of why he was let go, but it was a close 3-2 vote.

After his contract is finalized, Brown is expected to start work in Moorpark in March. He’ll fill the vacancy created by the retirement of longtime City Manager Steve Kuney
