The 2,300-acre brush fire that has been burning for more than two weeks in the Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County is almost fully contained.

Officials say the Pine Fire is now 93% contained, and full containment is expected Sunday. Nearly 200 firefighters are battling the fire: suppressing hotspots and improving fire lines.

In the meantime, some campgrounds and roads have reopened. Around noon on Friday, authorities opened Grade Valley Road, Reyes Creek Campground, Piedra Blanca Trailhead, Cedar Creek Trail near Pine Mountain Lodge campsite and Fishbowls Trail. Other areas remain closed, including Reyes Peak Trail and portions of Pine Mountain Road and Gene Marshal Piedra Blanca National Recreation Trail.

The fire started on June 30th, and the cause is still unknown.
