Brush Fire On Central Coast Burns More Than 1200 Acres Of Land, Forces Some Evacuations

A brush fire in northern San Luis Obispo County is now 40% contained after burning about 1200 acres of land.

The fire has been burning east of Santa Margarita since Monday afternoon, leading to evacuation orders for more than 200 people in the rural area.

A shelter was set up at Santa Margarita Elementary School. Al least one structure was destroyed. Firefighters made progress in fighting the fire overnight.
