Three men have been arrested after Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they broke up a cockfighting operation.

Authorities received word that there might be a cockfighting ring operating in the Oak View area.

Investigators got a search warrant, and conducted a raid yesterday morning. They arrested three Oak View men and seized about 200 roosters which had been trained for cockfighting.

They also confiscated some cockfighting instruments like little knives which are attached to the birds so they can seriously injure or kill their opponents.
