After Two Major Disasters, South Coast Tourism Officials Aim To Rebrand

A marketing makeover is underway for the Central Coast after the Thomas Fire and the Montecito mudflow disasters.

The top state tourism officials met with hotel, restaurant and other tourism leaders in Santa Barbara Thursday.

They talked about sending out positive messages in TV, radio and magazine ads, as well as creating new social media messaging.

Shooting on the project will begin next week.

While the impacts of the two disasters are widely known, officials hope that the message  that everything is open for business now, will become just as widespread.
