After Three Year Hiatus, Low-Cost Airline Returns To South Coast Airport

After being absent for three years, Frontier Airlines is coming back to the Santa Barbara Airport.

The carrier says flights will begin August 21 with a $49 introductory fare to Denver, Colorado.

Currently, United Airlines is the only carrier going to Denver.

The airport staff says passenger traffic has been up since 2016.

Frontier says the Denver schedule will include three non-stop flights. It's a popular flight for travelers headed east.
