Tamar Charney

Tamar Charney is an editorial strategist specializing in how the public media network can work together to provide journalism on the platforms where people listen, read and watch. She works with a variety of stations and organizations as a trainer and consultant.

At NPR, Charney led the editorial strategy for emerging platforms such as apps and smart speakers, including NPR's state-of-the-art personalized listening app, NPR One. She served as the Supervising Producer of Throughline. She was an executive creator of NPR's Coronavirus Daily, co-led the localization of Consider This and managed NPR's collaborative journalism work. Prior to joining NPR in 2016, Charney was the Program Director at Michigan Radio.
