Wednesday, Jun 09, 2010

Carpinteria voters rejected "Measure J", which would open the door to new oil drilling, by a 70 percent margin. Santa Barbara County voters chose Joyce Dudley as their new District Attorney by a 54 to 46 percent margin over Joshua Lynn, and re-elected County Supervisor Janet Wolf. In Ventura County, voters chose Geoff Dean as Sheriff, choosing him over Dennis Carpenter by a 60 to 40 percent margin. Ventura County Supervisors Linda Parks and Peter Foy both easily won re-election, crushing challengers by large margins. And, in the 35th District State Assemby race, Democrat Das Williams and Republican Mike Stoker each won their party's nominations, and will faces off this November.
