The staff at a local supermarket says it will never ask you again if you want "paper or plastic" for your purchases. KCLU's Lance Orozco reports the Carpinteria store is claiming it's helping to make history, with a total ban on the use of disposable grocery bags.

Legislation expected to go to the State Assembly floor this week could close what supporters are calling a loophole in how rental car companies deal with vehicle safety recall notices. KCLU's Lance Orozco reports the bill was sparked in part by a Ventura County woman whose daughters died in a rental car which hadn't been repaired, even though a recall notice had been issued.
