South Coast assemblymen set aside political party differences to cooperate on legislation to benefit region, state

One's a Democrat, and one's a Republican, but two assembly members representing Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties say they've teamed up to try to better serve the region's voters. KCLU's Lance Orozco reports Republican Assemblyman Jeff Gorrell of Camarillo, and Democratic Assemblyman Das Williams of Santa Barbara kicked off their collaboration with a trio of proposed new public safety laws.

A Santa Barbara County based relief agency has created hundreds of backpack first aid kits in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties for medical professionals who are part of a volunteer group organized to help during disasters.
