The Ventura County teen who travelled halfway around the world in a solo sailboat trip before her craft was damaged, and she had to be rescued is back home again, and talking about her adventure. KCLU's Lance Orozco reports on what Abby Sunderland of Thousand Oaks is saying about her 12,000 mile journey, and her family is saying about the controversy surrounding the 16 year old's trip.

Voters reject oil drilling proposal, pick new Sheriff and District Attorney

Carpinteria voters rejected "Measure J", which would open the door to new oil drilling, by a 70 percent margin. Santa Barbara County voters chose Joyce Dudley as their new District Attorney by a 54 to 46 percent margin over Joshua Lynn, and re-elected County Supervisor Janet Wolf. In Ventura County, voters chose Geoff Dean as Sheriff, choosing him over Dennis Carpenter by a 60 to 40 percent margin. Ventura County Supervisors Linda Parks and Peter Foy both easily won re-election, crushing challengers by large margins. And, in the 35th District State Assemby race, Democrat Das Williams and Republican Mike Stoker each won their party's nominations, and will faces off this November.
