Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and the City of Thousand Oaks will host this family-friendly event. It will feature emergency preparedness booths and demonstrations covering topics from earthquakes and floods, to CPR, bike safety and much more.
Local Law enforcement and the Ventura County Fire Department will be there with their vehicles, K9s, rescue teams and Kid Prints.
Several public safety officials will be on hand to do presentations at the outdoor main stage, these officials include:
10:30 a.m. - "The Thomas Fire: the story, the updates and lessons learned" – an Armchair chat moderated by Assemblymember Irwin, with Ventura County Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen and Sheriff Geoff Dean.
11:15 a.m. - “The Scam Stops Here” – How to protect yourself from the latest scams, presented by Detective Tim Lohman from the Ventura County Sheriff’s department.
12:00 noon - Active Shooter Program-Run, Hide, Fight – Presented by Sergeants Julie Novak and John Wright.
